ASSISTIVE LISTENING
- Assistive listening devices, loops and headphones are available at our Customer Relations desk. These devices are complimentary and available for all Mortensen and Belding performances on a first come, first served basis. A photo ID must be presented. Click here for more details.

AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE
American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation is scheduled for the Broadway Series and Encore Series on Sunday evenings at 6:30pm in addition to other select performances. Check individual show pages for the intepretation date of shows without a Sunday evening performance. SENSORY-FRIENDLY RESOURCES
- Sensory bags and communication supports are available for all performances at our Customer Relations desk. The bags are complimentary and available for all performances on a first come, first served basis. A photo ID must be presented.
ACCESSIBLE SEATING
- Seating Locations: The Mortensen Hall and Belding Theater have wheelchair accessible locations where patrons may remain in their wheelchairs along with locations for patrons using other mobility aids. If you need specific ADA seating, please call the box office (860) 987-5900.
- Mortensen Hall: Wheelchair and other mobility accessible locations are available on the orchestra level only. Seats in the Mezzanine & Balcony of the Mortensen Hall involve stairs and are not accessible.
- Belding Theater: Wheelchair and other mobility accessible locations are available on both orchestra and mezzanine levels. Seats in the the rear of the Orchestra and the majority of the Mezzanine of the Belding Theater involve stairs and are not accessible.
- Due to the high demand of accessible seat locations in both venues, The Bushnell cannot accommodate patrons who arrive with tickets in non-accessible seats expecting to be seated elsewhere.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- Accessible entrances are located at the far-left corner of Capitol Ave. for Mortensen Hall performances and through the box office for Belding Theater and Mortensen Hall performances.
- Accessible restrooms are located throughout the venue. A family restroom is located on the 3rd floor of the Belding Theater lobbies.
- Elevators are available for both theaters.
- Volunteers are onsite for all performances to assist patrons with specific needs.
Safety and Security Policy
The safety and security of all Bushnell guests is our top priority.
Our goal is to provide all patrons with a relaxed, safe experience. The safety and security of our staff, patrons and all our visitors is a high priority.
To ensure an enjoyable experience, please note the following policy:
- The Bushnell encourages all patrons to arrive early (preferably 30-60 minutes) to allow adequate time to park, go through the security process, find your seats, and grab a drink or bite to eat.
- The security screening process may consist of metal detection hand wanding and walk-thru magnetometers (metal detectors).
The Bushnell employs the following additional procedures:
- All persons and bags are subject to search.
- Exceptions for medically necessary items and diaper bags after proper inspection are considered.
- Anyone exiting the building is subject to search, wanding, and walk-thru metal detection upon re-entry.
PROHIBITED ITEMS:
- Weapons (all guns and knives of any size and shape up to and including: pen knives, pocket knives, multi-tools, and props/toys).
- Outside food, alcohol, and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Helium balloons, beach balls, and projectiles.
- Backpacks or large bags (larger than 12”x12”x6").
- Noisemakers, air horns, fireworks, flares.
- Animals with the exception of trained service animals as allowed by law.
- Laser pointers, signs, flashlights.
- Illegal and illicit drugs as determined by the federal and local authorities.
- Smoking of cigarettes, cigars and pipes, vaping, and e-cigarettes of any kind.
- Audio and video recording devices, selfie sticks, and tripods.
- Any items deemed dangerous or inappropriate by Bushnell Management.
Any patron found in possession of the above prohibited items will be requested to remove the items from the premises.
The Bushnell reserves the right to remove any person(s) creating a disturbance or interfering with other patron’s enjoyment of a performance, event or program.
Children
All guests, including children sitting on the lap of a guardian, must have a ticket. Contact The Bushnell box office at 860.987.5900 for assistance purchasing these tickets.
- Booster seats are available at each seating level on a first-come, first-served basis.
- A family restroom, equipped with a changing table, is located on the third level of Belding Theater.
Customer Relations
During performances, the Customer Relations desk, located on the first floor Belding Lobby, is open through the end of the show to assist you accessiblity services, directions, lost & found, cough drops and more. For assistance during business hours, call 860.987.6059.
Late Arrival
- The performance start time is printed on your ticket.
- Lobbies open two (2) hours prior to most performance and theater seating begins approximately 30 minutes prior to each event start time.
- Many shows have policies that require us to hold late patrons in the lobby until a specified point in the show. As a result, late seating may be restricted and is at the discretion of the production. For your convenience, closed circuit televisions are located in the lobbies.
- If you must leave your seat during the performance, please do so quietly. Re-entry may also be restricted and is at the discretion of the production.
First Aid
The Bushnell is equipped with First Aid kits on all levels of the facility and automated external defibrillators (AEDs) are located throughout the building. Contact a Bushnell staff member if you are in need of medical assistance.
Food and Beverage
Beverage services and snacks are available throughout The Bushnell’s lobbies. Light fare is available at The Bushnell Café, located in the box office lobby.
- Patrons may bring (1) one sealed bottle of water in a 16 oz or smaller container or an empty non-glass water bottle to fill at water fountains in the building.
- Café food and concessions are permitted in the theater.
- All other outside food and beverages are not permitted in the theater, unless otherwise specified.
Lost and Found
Contact Bushnell Security at 860.987.6061 to inquire about possible recovery of lost items. If you have lost an item while at an event, please see a Bushnell staff member for assistance.
Merchandise
Souvenirs are available in the lobby areas for select performances. Show related merchandise is sold by the show’s producing organization and therefore The Bushnell is not responsible for defective merchandise.
Service Animals
Although animals are not allowed within the facility, trained Service Animals as allowed by law are permitted. If you intend to bring a service animal to an event, please notify your ticket representative at the time of purchase so that an appropriate seat may be purchased for you.
Smoking
The Bushnell is a smoke-free facility.
