UNDER ONE ROOF - RESILIENCE
From November 2025 to January 2026, The Bushnell partnered with Mandell JCC to bring “Under One Roof” to the Promenade Gallery. This unique and inspiring collaborative art exhibit featured the creative work of 34 community organizations and agencies, sharing their perspectives on the powerful theme of RESILIENCE.
RESILIENCE brought together, under one roof, diverse perspectives and experiences of our community. Last season, Yolande Spears, Senior Vice President and Chief Community Impact Officer, saw the exhibit during a visit to the Mandell JCC for a performance by the Bushnell Children’s Theatre. The impact of the exhibit was immediately clear to Spears, who visited the JCC with the encouragement of Board Chair Steven Greenspan.
Deeply moved by the organizations’ stories told through art, and feeling felt they deserved to be shared more widely, Spears sought to bring the artwork to The Bushnell. Thanks to her vision, "Under One Roof" embarked on a second tour, with enthusiastic support from participants.
“We are always delighted and amazed when these canvases arrive at the JCC,” said Leslie Sax, Chief Program Officer of the Mandell JCC. “Their creativity, expression, and dedication to their individual causes reveal themselves on each canvas. Each one educates us about an organization, and together, they create a magical statement about the fortitude of our community.”
David Jacobs, President and CEO of the Mandell JCC, added, “Resilience is the ability to adapt and thrive in the face of adversity. Through art, we come together as a community to reflect, to heal, and to celebrate our collective strength.”
