San Francisco, from Gold Rush days to the present, has been one of the most intriguing cities on the map. With a population made up of immigrants from around the world, nearly every language can be heard on its streets and in its homes. You will learn the city's history from its Spanish settler days to the Gold Rush to the hippie movement to the present - all events that shaped the city's diversity.

Of course, you will see San Francisco's famous landmarks and ride its thrilling cable cars, as well as see where the cable cars are made and how they are powered. You will wander the city's unique regions such as North Beach, the Mission District and Chinatown, where the evening scents of ethnic cooking tell you about the flavor of the neighborhood and the people who live there.

You will stroll the city's waterside walkways, and visit Fisherman's Wharf, with its charming restaurants and outdoor crab and fish vendors. You will also stop by Golden Gate Park.

Rick and Jan Rosenfeld are native Californians and long time residents of the San Francisco Bay area. They spent 15 years in the audience as enthusiasts of travel/adventure films, and their life-long love of travel made it natural for them to join the industry as filmmakers after their five children had grown and moved on.

About The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts - The Bushnell is Connecticut's premier performing arts center, hosting more than 450 events yearly, including major Broadway tours, symphony orchestras, family presentations, local arts and community events.
