Seven young performers from the Magdelan Islands, all graduates of École Nationale de Cirque de Montréal (Montreal's National Circus School), founded Cirque Éloize in 1993. Their goal was to design shows that could speak to audiences of any language. In the past decade, the company, which now includes more than 100 performers in two touring companies, has staged over 1000 performances in 200 cities and 20 countries. The artistic sensibility, originality and virtuosity of Éloize's performers have amazed more than two million people. Besides earning international accolades with its two touring troupes, the company is continuing to develop innovative productions that will inspire a whole new generation of cirque lovers.
With Nomade, Cirque Éloize invites audiences on a surreal journey along the highways and byways of their imagination. A community of performers stages a carnival filled with song, dance, music, juggling and acrobatic feats. These nomadic travelers wander through their own memories and dreams to a place that is strangely familiar, boisterous and lyrical. Their journey begins at dusk and ends at dawn because at nighttime, the sky shines with endless possibilities.
