The Bushnell Joins Forces with The Reach Foundation to Help Victims of Haiti Earthquake
JANUARY 26, 2010 - The Bushnell, in partnership with The Reach Foundation, is collecting funds for the American Red Cross to help victims of the earthquake in Haiti earlier this month. Collections will be taken at intermission of all performances of Disney’s The Lion King, running January 27 through February 14, 2010 (excluding the Thursday, January 28 matinee). One hundred percent of the proceeds go directly to the American Red Cross. Other venues joining in this effort include the XL Center in Hartford and Toyota Presents the Oakdale Theatre in Wallingford. We are grateful to The Reach Foundation for providing us the opportunity to join forces in this most important humanitarian effort.
The Reach Foundation was established in 2000 by Mark and Wendy Wilson of Farmington, Connecticut, with the primary focus of helping children in need – physically, socially and financially. The Reach Foundation works closely with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, YMCA, Girl Scouts, CCMC and other organizations that benefit children. Their mission is: “If in only one life, make a difference.”
“We are proud to join hands with The Reach Foundation to help the victims of the tragic earthquake,” said Bushnell President & CEO, David Fay. “We hope to help make a positive impact on Haiti, which has suffered so profoundly this year.”
