Hartford Stage, Hartford Symphony, and The Bushnell to Offer Connecticut Opera Patrons Ticket for Ticket Exchange
February 12, 2009 - Hartford, CT - The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts, Hartford Stage, and Hartford Symphony have joined together to offer subscribers to Connecticut Opera the opportunity to redeem their tickets for the Opera’s cancelled 2009 Season for selected performances at these leading Hartford arts organizations. Despite the turbulent economic climate, the arts are alive and well in Connecticut, providing not only cultural enrichment, but thousands of jobs and millions of dollars in economic stimulus throughout the state. Tickets will be honored on an even exchange (ticket for ticket).
Performances offered to Connecticut Opera patrons:
Noises Off! at Hartford Stage April 16 – May 17
Hartford Stage will offer Connecticut Opera patrons the opportunity to exchange their subscription tickets for our upcoming production of the Tony Award-winning comedy Noises Off! Doors slam, identities are confused and chaos reigns in this hilarious farce that follows a motley and disorganized theatre company as they rehearse, perform, and just try to make it through Nothing On.
Greater Tuna at The Bushnell May 26 – 31
Greater Tuna is a hysterical social satire set in Texas' third smallest town, where the Lion's Club is too liberal and Patsy Cline never dies. The eclectic band of citizens that make up this town are portrayed by two uniquely talented performers, making this spoof on life in rural America even more delightful as they depict all of the 21 inhabitants of Tuna - men, women, children and animals. This sidesplitting send-up of small town life is a “tour-de-farce” of costume quick-changes and comic characterizations.
