The Silent Boy - Bushnell Children's Theatre
Based on the critically acclaimed book by Newbery Award winning writer Lois Lowry. The Silent Boy: Katy Thatcher, a young girl growing up in a quaint farming community in the early 1900s, befriends Jacob, a boy with autism. Although Jacob makes unintelligible sounds and moves awkwardly, Katy’s quiet understanding and patience allow her to appreciate Jacob’s gifts within his silent world. When events take an unexpected and tragic turn, and Jacob is suspected to be the cause, it is Katy alone who is determined to prove Jacob’s innocence.
