Play and Sing Along with SteveSongs at The Bushnell

Bring the whole family down to The Bushnell’s Family Fun Day for a day full of fun and creativity!

Hartford, CT – March 24, 2008 – Join rising kids’ music star Steve Roslonek and his band for a fun-filled day of music and creativity at The Bushnell’s Family Fun Day on Saturday, April 19, 2008 in Belding Theater.  Family Fun Day activities will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and SteveSongs will perform at 11:00 a.m. for 60 minutes without intermission.  Family Fun Day is a part of the Robinson & Cole Family Series.

Family Fun Day activities are FREE and open to the public. However, entrance to the SteveSongs performance in the Belding Theater requires a ticket.  Tickets for SteveSongs are on sale now and can be purchased by visiting The Bushnell Box Office at 166 Capitol Avenue in Hartford or by calling (860) 987-5900.  Tickets may also be purchased online at www.bushnell.org.  Groups of 20 or more should call (860) 987-5959.  All tickets to the performance are $10.00 in advance and $12.00 the day of the show. 

This year’s Family Fun Day theme is Connecticut - organizations from all around the state will be on-site with exciting things for your child to see and do.  Among them will be the Connecticut Science Center, Mystic Aquarium & Institute for Exploration, The New England Carousel Museum, Quassy Amusement Park, Columbia Dental, The Lezagna Family Clowns with face painting and balloon animals, and so much more!  Plus, meet Sonar from the Hartford Wolf Pack and Rocky from the New Britain Rock Cats!

Then head into the Belding Theater for some musical fun with SteveSongs!  SteveSongs has earned numerous awards, including two Parents’ Choice Gold Awards, a NAPPA Honor, iParenting Media Award, and a Children’s Music Web Award. Steve’s latest, critically acclaimed CD is Marvelous Day (2006; Rounder). A much-anticipated, full-length DVD of original SteveSongs videos and live concert footage will be available in August 2008.  Since Steve began writing and performing kids’ songs in 1997 he has performed at over 1500 shows/ workshops in 17 states.  He has also teamed up with co-writer Anand Nayak, of the Rani Arbo and Daisy Mayhem Band, to write and record over 80 songs for educational products that have been distributed in Asia and Mexico. 

Starting on May 19th 2008, Steve will also appear daily on national TV as “Mr. Steve” the music teacher and new co-host of the PBS KIDS morning block. In this role, Steve will introduce musical elements and perform original songs during the popular PBS KIDS morning preschool block (Clifford, Super Why, Dragon Tales, and Curious George). Full length videos of Steve performing his PBS songs will air throughout the day.  Steve recently moved from Boston and currently resides in Connecticut.
