Hilary Swank cancels, Erin Gruwell remains featured speaker on March 21

February 9, 2007, HARTFORD, CT – Hilary Swank will not appear as part of the speaking team of Hilary Swank and Erin Gruwell at The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts. The cancellation is due to changes in the actress’ schedule.   Erin Gruwell will remain the featured speaker of the evening.  Gruwell is the former inner-city schoolteacher who is portrayed by Swank in the currently released movie Freedom Writers.   The engagement is sponsored by The Phoenix Companies, Inc.

The Bushnell is pleased to provide the following special offers:

  • A price adjustment will be honored on tickets previously purchased as well as new purchases.  The new purchase price is $40, $30, $20.  VIP seats and reception packages are now $75.  Current ticketholders can call The Bushnell Box Office at 860-987-5900 to receive their credit.
  • Teachers can receive 20% off their ticket purchase by showing a current teacher’s i.d. or paystub at the Box Office at the time of their ticket purchase.
  • Students can purchase $10 tickets for mezzanine and balcony seating
  • Patrons with Freedom Writers movie ticket stubs can receive 10% off tickets by showing the ticket stub at the Box Office.
