I never knew the story line - just a few of the songs - before seeing the play the other night. It was a tad "sad" (poor Porgy!) ... but the acting and singing were excellent!

While it seemed only half full, It was somewhat different than I expected. It was enjoyable and I appreciated having the words present during the performance.......great idea. What I didnt like was I tried to get a closer seat and there were many empty seats empty in the center only wishing I could have been given a seat there. I also wish they would stop bringing people in 10 minutes after the show starts. It wasnt just one or two but many groups.......it disturbs the show. This needs to stop people need to get there on time. I have been to shows elsewhere where they will not let people in.

I also noticed that at this show (and did not recall at others) that latecomers were allowed to be seated - some even in the first few rows. We thought it was very rude to the performers and to the others who came on time.

In the many years that I have been a subscriber, this has been only the second time that I have left a show prior to its conclusion. Despite great singing and music, the show was painfully boring. Also, there were times that the subtitled words were missing and/or did not match the singing in a timely manner. Also, I concur with those writers who complained about the fact that many guests were seated after the start of the show and that this caused an undue disturbance.
